Integrated Systems Testing is a newer requirement of the National Building Code – 2015 Version and was included in the 2020 updates to the Ontario Building Code. In this presentation we want to review the following aspects of this prescriptive requirement found in Division B of both codes. Presentation will include the following and more:
- Review the documentation process required to comply with CAN/ULC S1001 as confirmation that building systems meet operational requirements of Provincial and National Building Codes.
- Review of specific Life Safety Systems and what the IST process could involve.
- Commissioning of Openings: Operative requirements for integrated testing of door-hold- open devices with fire alarm and smoke detection systems, and door security systems.
- Commissioning of Elevators, Fire Protection Systems, HVAC, Integrated Automation, Electrical Systems and Communications Systems.
